Brydges Place

Brydges Place

View of Brydges Place, looking towards St Martin’s Lane. Reputedly London’s narrowest alleyway, just to the south of The London Coliseum in Covent Garden. This view, from the Bedfordbury end shows the alley getting narrower towards St Martin’s Lane. The flowers on the left are on the rear of The Marquis of Granby (which fronts on to Chandos Place), one of London’s many historic pubs which dates from the 1600’s when it was known as The Hole in the Wall pub. Charles Dickens is meant to have frequented this pub.
