Bleigiessen by Thomas Heatherwick Close up view through Thomas Heatherwick’s ‘hanging’ sculpture titled ‘Bleigiessen’ which is located within the atrium of the Wellcome Trust’s new HQ, The Gibbs Building, 215 Euston Road. In all the whole sculpture, which is around 30 metres high, consists of around 142,000 glass spheres hanging on to some 840 kilometers of fine stainless steel wire. The form of the sculpture has meant to represent the twisted shape of a drop of molten metal, which cools and solidifieds as it falls through tumbling water.
